Inductee Bio Sonny Vardeman started in the surfing industry in the late 1950s with Mike Bright in Hermosa Beach, California. After many bucketsw of hot resin on the garage floor, Sonny and Mike were kicked out of the family garage. They opened Surf Fiberglass Company, glassing boards for Bing, Greg Noll, Hap Jacobs, and Dewey Weber
